Delete your Fireball account
You can permanently delete your account and user-owned Fireball data at any time. This page explains every available route and the limited records that can remain.
Delete your account from the web dashboard
- Sign in to your Fireball dashboard.
- Scroll to Danger Zone.
- Choose Delete account and follow the confirmation steps.
Or delete your account in the mobile app
- Sign in to the Fireball mobile app.
- Open Settings.
- Under Danger Zone, choose Delete account.
- Review the billing warning, then confirm Delete.
If you cannot access the app, use our support form or email support@heliosstudio.app from the address associated with your Fireball account. We will verify the request before deleting the account.
Delete selected data without deleting your account
- To delete saved bank data, open Settings, choose Manage Akahu data, then choose Delete saved bank history (or disconnect a bank and select the history-deletion option).
- To delete AI chats or saved memories, open AI Chat, open its history sidebar, select the records, and choose Delete.
- To delete shared categorisation contributions, open Settings and turn off Help improve merchant categories.
If you cannot access these controls, email support@heliosstudio.app with the data you want deleted. We will verify your identity before acting on the request.
What is deleted
The account deletion process permanently removes your profile, linked-bank records, transactions, balances, budgets, categories, goals, manual assets and liabilities, net-worth snapshots, AI conversations, the latest AI Weekly Review summary and delivery receipts, known-installation security records, shared categorisation contributions, push tokens, and the active subscription projection. The deletion cannot be undone.
Authenticated session cleanup also removes Fireball's local cache, secure session material, and financial home-widget payloads from the device running the deletion flow.
Limited data we may retain
- Tax and billing records may be retained as required by law (typically seven years in New Zealand).
- Rewarded, ineligible, or cancelled referral records may be anonymised and retained for up to seven years.
- Short-lived billing, notification, security, diagnostics, and rate-limit records remain only until their applicable 24-hour to 365-day retention periods expire.
- Stripe trial history may remain to enforce the one-trial-per-person rule.
- Apple or Google subscription-binding tombstones may remain with their Fireball owner removed so a provider identity cannot be attached to another account.
- Service-only Stripe refund-integrity evidence may retain provider references, bounded refund facts, and a keyed payment-identity hash with the Fireball owner removed. It contains no raw payment identity, email, address, or card details and currently has no automatic expiry.
- Residual copies may remain until the applicable provider-managed backup expires or is overwritten. They are not restored to recreate a deleted account.
- Previously collected anonymous product analytics cannot be linked back to your deleted account and expires under our 14-month analytics retention policy.
- The private provider-neutral billing analytics ledger is immediately unlinked from your Fireball owner record. Its versioned pseudonymous customer grouping may remain for up to 36 months before it is cryptographically destroyed; non-identifying provider evidence and completed aggregate reports may remain.
For full details, read the Fireball Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions
Deleting your Fireball account does not cancel a subscription billed by Stripe, Apple, or Google Play. Fireball shows the applicable billing warning and management option before deletion. Cancel any continuing subscription through its billing provider to stop future renewal.
- Stripe: use the billing-management control in your Fireball dashboard before deletion.
- Apple: manage subscriptions in your Apple Account.
- Google Play: manage subscriptions in Google Play.
