We built Fireball because we always wanted more clarity over our money, and a tool to guide us towards a secure future, whenever and however we choose to slow down.

The question that started all this. We kept asking it at the end of each month, and realised we had no real answer, let alone a plan for what came next.
The discovery
As the future of work changed, we started thinking seriously about security, time and choice. That led us to FIRE: Financial Independence, Retire Early.
The frustration
The idea was inspiring. Getting started was not. Most money tools felt complex, technical and built for somewhere else. Staying organised became another job.

So we started building Fireball: a private, transparent way to understand your money and turn long-term freedom into clear, everyday decisions.

We’re a small, independent team building the money tool we wanted for ourselves: clear, private and made for life in Aotearoa.
Percy is a software engineer who has worked on the myAMP and One Wallet apps. The speed of change in AI made him think seriously about how much control any of us have over when and how we stop working. He built Fireball to give him and Nancy a goal they could see, and a plan that could keep changing with their lives.
Nancy works in health care and knows how quickly meaningful work can become exhausting. She helps shape Fireball and how we explain it, guided by the belief that financial freedom is not only about retiring early. It is about having the choice to slow down, work less, or do something new.
