What is compound interest?
Compound interest is earning returns on your past returns as well as on the money you put in.
Growth builds on itself, so time in the market matters a lot. The same contributions started ten years earlier can end up far larger.
Example
$10,000 growing at 6% a year becomes about $32,000 after 20 years without adding anything.
