What is KiwiSaver?
KiwiSaver is New Zealand's voluntary workplace retirement savings scheme, generally locked until you turn 65.
Employees contribute a share of their pay, employers add a matching contribution and the government adds a yearly contribution for eligible members.
Savings can generally be withdrawn at 65. Earlier withdrawals are limited to cases such as buying a first home or significant financial hardship, so early retirees need savings outside KiwiSaver too.
In Fireball
Fireball connects to KiwiSaver providers through Akahu and keeps KiwiSaver locked until 65 in your FIRE plan.
