What is a PIE fund?
A portfolio investment entity (PIE) is a New Zealand fund taxed at each investor's prescribed investor rate, capped at 28%.
Most KiwiSaver schemes and many managed funds are PIEs. The fund pays the tax for you, so PIE income usually does not go in your own tax return.
